An iconic photo from the 1990s, now available as a signed print. Bring a piece of techno history into your home.

The story

The story behind this iconic image began with our 2024 book Fuse: 30yrs of making noise. While searching for photographic archives of the legendary Brussels nightlife institute, we came across the name Peter Ooms. We discovered that the photographer now lives in Germany, and were fortunate to include a significant part of his archive in the book. His contribution proved essential.

One of Peter’s photos featured in the book quickly drew attention. It was republished by French online platform Dure Vie and went viral, amassing thousands of likes and shares.

But what makes this image so special? It breathes the spirit of the 1990s: the cars, the clothes, the absence of smartphones. The photo captures a familiar moment—just before entering the club—charged with anticipation. The Fuse News booklet held by a clubber allows us to date the image with reasonable certainty to November 1997.

Now, for the first time, this iconic photograph is available as a high-quality print—our tribute to the scene, the moment, and the memory.

Each print is signed by the artist.

We’ve kept the pricing deliberately accessible. Framing is not included to avoid the risk of broken glass during shipping — and to give you the freedom to frame the print in a style that suits your space.

The frames shown on this page are for illustrative purposes only. We chose a widely used format (30×20 cm) to make framing easy. We recommend professional framing or using a standard ready-made frame.

Artist biography

Peter Ooms (1973) is a Belgian photographer who lives and works in Germany. In the 1990s, he was a regular visitor at Fuse, often bringing his analog camera on weekend nights. He became the club’s in-house photographer, capturing many unique moments from its early years. Later, he continued working for Fuse founder Peter Decuypere, documenting raves such as I LOVE TECHNO. People might also remember him as Izzy.

The book Fuse: 30yrs of making noise (2024, AfterClub) made extensive use of Peter Ooms’ stunning archive, which had spent years gathering dust in his attic. On the occasion of the publication, the photographer spent hours poring over negatives and slides, digitizing hundreds of them. His images offer a rare and intimate glimpse into the raw energy and atmosphere of Belgium’s most iconic techno institution.
